if your refering to the ADSC selection testing then the research you need to learn are the SA80 series of rifles the bullet size, weight, fire rate things of that nature, some Sniper (forgot the name) The Fragment Grenade, and for your Ice Breaker you need to explain in detail Phase 1 Training and Phase 2 Training what sort of things you will learn, how difficult it will be and steps to prepare.

Hope this helps

Ohh thanks I was thinking of researching a totally different area i.e history of the regiments, so i have to research the weapons and the phase 1-2 training , pretty straight forwards..

Thankyou :)

As far as the weapons and grenades are concerned I wouldn't worry about that so much because you get a long presentation on them the day before the test, the Corporal in charge of you for the couple days will also give a lesson on them before or after the presentation so all the information you will need will be learned then, just remember to take plenty of notes and revise them before lights out.

Researching on the history of the regiment won't hurt but isn't required, it may give you some interesting points to make during your Ice Breaker though, might earn some kudos if you show to the Staff that will be listening that you care enough about your chosen regiment to learn a little about there history, they might even respect you more for it, but like I said don't worry about it as that's optional.

One more thing I would suggest is that if you have to take a Technical Trades Testing during ADSC, that you touch up on your Math (GCSE Level) although not all trades have to take this test so it might be worth asking about it at your careers office to give yourself a heads up, but you might not have to take it at all.

Best of luck with your application.
