Joining the reserve whilst waiting for regular recruitment?

Hi all

First post on here and seen some very helpful info already! I just want some advice really. In October I registered an interest with AFCO for RAF General Electrician. I've been waiting and waiting but they don't look like they will open recruitment anytime soon! So to build up some experience and also help my application I thought I would apply for the RAF Regiment reserve in the meantime. My main concern with doing this is that during training or the application process will open for General Elelectrician. I just don't wnt to mess anyone around to be honest and also concerned I may restrict myself being able to apply for the regs.

What would you recommend? Any help would be great!

If you have been accepted then wait to be called. You could join the Reserves and no sooner have you got all your kit then you are called up, they would love that.
