army fitness test???

does the test require you to run 1.5 miles in 10mins 30secs or 12mins 30secs??

It depends on what job you're applying for. I joined the REME in 2008 and had to do the 1.5 in 12m30secs at selection, but after phase one training i was required to meet the regimental standard of 10min30secs.

Regiments vary but most regular army regiments are around the ten and a half minute mark. This is actually quite an easy standard to reach.

My advice for training for a faster mile and a half PFT time is to simply keep trying it and stay determined. Record your time on a decent stop watch each time you try it and then try and beat your record. You'll soon recognise and settle in to the correct pace required for a good time.

The Army does have some special dispensations for time required on PFT and they are your age and sex. The best place to get this info is at the recruiting office, theyll be happy to help.
