Joining from overseas, age 25 - too late?

Post by IanMac »

Hi all,

I'm hoping to get some advice. I'm 25 (born early July) and looking to apply to join as an officer. I realise I've left it late - I thought the upper cap was still 29 rather than 26 - but am hoping it's not too late. I've seen various estimates for the application wait times online (between 4 and 18 months) and I was told on the Army Live Chat that it's between 6-9 months. Any personal experiences would be great to get though.

I'm also applying from overseas, I've been living in New York for the last year but was born & raised in Britain. If anyone has any advice as to how often I'd have to fly back for tests & selection, that'd also be appreciated. It seems I can't apply online and instead have to do it by post, which won't help with the timing.
