Hi all,

I realise this is an old post but I'm also looking at getting into the Armourer trade and recently had my Pre-ADSC assessment (details below)
We were told by the boss there that recently (in the last 2 weeks) they have changed alot of stuff for ADSC as below;

the http://www.army.mod.uk/documents/genera ... ect_V4.pdf says that you need to complete the 1.5m in 14 min but in order to pass the ADSC now you need to be aiming at getting an A+ (or A* either way....) this means that even if you're going for a trade the majority who do not get a run time of 10.30 or below will have to retake the Pre assessment - if you get put forward for one.

We were also told that the following have been taken out of the assessment process of the ADSC;

Press ups
Sit ups
Static lift
Back strength test (can not remember the exact name)

There is still a lift capability test but this is primarily aimed at the guys going into the Inf. tank reg etc at its to simulate moving ammo boxes etc from floor to 1.75m (or rear of truck) starting from 15kg moving up to 40kg

Max heaves are still in the mix but they are mainly focussed on your run time, overall GTI etc

I have to retake my pre assessment in November as I fell short of the 10.30 time :cry: Hopefully smash it next time now I know what to expect!! :snipersmile:
Application form - Completed
Medical forms - Completed
BARB - Completed - 78

Pre ADSC

1.5 m - 11.16 (needs to be 10.30)
Heaves - 7
150m Jerry can - Smashed
