To echo what ofens said, you're in the gym for the first 9 weeks of RT anyway building up base fitness levels before you start running with weight. That's not to say you dont carry for bergan contents & some to "get use to how it is on ops" but your training should be geared towards good CV with a good amount of explosive power.
Heaviest weight you'll carry in any of the tests is 69lb bergan/webbing + rifle + any water you want to carry. But come the latter stages of training, that'll feel like a walk in the park as you'll be hitting 110lbs and up once you get into phase 2.
In summary, scrap the weight, your knees will thank you.
