Hi everybody, I'm new to this forum and have joined to try and find out what I can as regards Dispatch riders especially attached to:-
278/87 Heavy Anti-Aircraft regt RA.
I have just come across my late Brother in Laws papers which include his soldiers service book, diaries, photographs and goodness knows what.
His name was Colin Corbett Richards T/1768890 Born 30-10-1920. He enlisted at Bispham 16-1-1941 and was demobbed 16th March 1946.
I have a record of his whole service from leaving Wakefield to his day of demob and wondered if anybody was at all interested.
The above regiment became 87th Heavy A.A. Regt. R.A. on 7th Nov 1944.
Amongst other things he was a Dispatch rider and would have stood out amongst the ranks as he was 6' 8" tall.
If anyone is at all interested let me know and I will share what I have learnt with you.
I will have a look around this site to see how to post hotographs should they be required.
Cheers, BobHan.
