Barret XM109

Post by tom163 »

The Barret XM109 Anti-Material Payload Rifle, its a modified version of the Barret M107 Sniper Rifle and its able to destroy light armour and any material targets up to 2000m away. It has the well knows reliability of the M107 and can with stand mud, dirt and many more extreme conditions. The XM109 has been seen in action in Iraq and Afganistan aswell as other places. The rifle uses 25mm Armoured Piercing bullets for engaging light armour or enemy personel far away. The XM109 can be modified to suit the environment and to gain a better advantage against the enemy. Used a Barret .50cal.on loan for evaluation purposes.
Though we had some fun with it it was deemed unsuitable for police service.
Ho-hum,back to the Remington 700 series.

It appears to be great in hitting APC but how often do you get a shot at a person 2.000 metres. Would i want to hump some thing like that over the hills of Afghanistan, I don't think so.

Make it Gurkha-mounted. Golf cart is optional. Hell of a good-looking moose gun!

This is our 25mm:

Bushmaster. Fitted in the LAV III turret. Excellent piece of kit. APDS-T, and HEI-T rds. Plus TP-T is good for punching sizeable holes through masonry.

Oh, are anyone surprised..

It makes a mess of anything it hits!! Even the .338 cal is too offensive for civ. appilcations i think??

Yes mate, that's one of thier weapons that I'm using. They didn't have any .338s with them.

I have a .300 win mag, (in storage back in Canada) and its about the same price as a .338, its only about 1$ a shot. I only plan on shooting once and I get about 1000$ worth of deer for that shot. It seems like a pretty good deal to me...

Saw a Barret for sale this week for 4500 dollars in a shop. Very tempting to buy. The 50 Cal, that rifle is for real.
They plan to ban the sales of them in my state next year. I might pick one up before then. They have cheaper models.
Let them call me a rebel and I welcome it, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of demons were I to make a whore of my soul. (Thomas Paine)
