Opinions on Short Service Reserve Engagement

Evening all,

The time has come for me to start thinking about a possible gap year, and the SSRE has caught my eye. I have read up on the basic content but I'd love to hear some opinions, especially from those involved in the programme. For somebody aspiring to serve with the Regiment after university, is it worth having a go at? How are members of the programme integrated into the rest of 3 PARA?
