Recruiting for this year in most jobs is nearly full. Personally I would wait out for the job you want.
Get a part time job and be happy in the knowledge that no matter how bad your part time job is, in 12 months you will be doing the job you really really want!

I think most RE trades will be around March '10. Once you pass ADSC just use the time to train hard and be as prepared as possible for Basic, time goes fairly quick.

Hmm, it sounds nobody want to be call to duty, are you guys joinning the Army for fun(the Army got alot of fun but only for those that are willing to serve ) or want to protect UK an the rest of the world against terrorist .As you said '' don't want it for it duty sake'' meet your Carrer Advicr to tell you more about Infantry-we got alot of offer in it : comm, engr e.t.c . remember nothing can keep you away from the frontline once you're in the Army unless you want to become the head of Armed Forces over night .You've got to show some bravery and skills b4 you can earn respect ...

why would i join the army for "fun"? i'm saying i really want to go in soon as possible its just that a careeer in the engineers is what i really want to do but i'l be waiting a while. i mentioned the infantry because they take on about 3 times before the end of the year. and i am not trying to pick a job that will keep me from seeing action i'm not stupid i wouldn't join the army and be shocked to be told to go and fight.
some cranks on here man!
