Hey guys, Iv applied for the para's the other month back and im at the stage of giving my doctor my med forms. I went down this morning with them to sort out etc and just out of interest i asked if there was anything on my medical records that might flag up and cause any problems, i used to have asthma when i was younger which had me worried(hence why i asked for the doc to have a look). I was previously told before xmas that i hadnt had any medication or anything for well over 4 years but the doctor this morning found that id got an inhaler in 2006. Im positive i got this possibly just as precaution when i had a chest infection or something.
I havnt had an asthma attack or problems breathing for well over 4 years, but this inhaler is down on my records.
I know there is a 4 year period where you have to be clear of asthma etc but is it possible to prove that this one inhaler wasnt because i was suffering actually with asthma? or is there a possibility they will waver it if i get a writen letter or something from my GP?
I am absolutely gutted finding this out knowing that theres is an almost certainty ill get deferred for over a year because of this 'precautionary' inhaler
Just thought id ask on here first before i get chance to visit my afco in a couple of days
cheers, Jamie
