DOG TRAINER/HANDLER ENQUIRY

Post by HRH »

I've got ADSC next month and my job choices include CMT and Dog Handler

I keep being told that there's pretty much no chance I'll get dog handler cos there's only limited places, and even most of those places get filled by ppl currently serving that transfer jobs

Any clue what to expect from the 2-day dog handler tests up at melton mowbray? Any tips for passing that..?

Thanks

Absolutely no idea. I'd have loved to be a dog handler in the RAF (assume it's similar to the Army role) but I also wanted to do all the Regiment stuff, so it never came to be.
BUT - If you give your AFCO a ring or pop in and ask them to find out for you I'm sure they'll give you some info. if they fob you off and say they don't know, get them to contact the unit and find out.

I knew a dog handler with the RGJ's many moons ago.
It seems that your current government is doing it's best to outsource everything to PFI's to keep the actual cost off the books.
Next is to be initial training for the Royal Artillery and the RTR.
"For profit training"Has never worked and never will.Slick Willy tried it and that got us into a whole world of hurt.
The United States has just deployed more boots to Helmand as the British Commanding General admitted to a lack of capacity :o

I think I just hi-jacked your thread

"Down,Shep,Down"
Best dog I ever saw in Law Enforcement was a black lab, sadly it was killed protecting it's handler and partner.
Needless to say the whole Sheriff's Office got involved in the arrest of the miscreant.A waste of air dumb-ass part-time drug dealer got a six for animal cruelty.

I still kinda wish I'd got there first.

Now where did I hide my Jack Daniels?

Potential Gunner's Acquaintance Course, it's more or less a 3-day fitness assessment for RAF Regiment applicants.
