I think that picture has been "Photo Shoped" and the raising mechanism added where none existed. It is definitely NOT the "Paris Gun" The Paris Gun had a suspension bridge set up on the barrel to overcome muzzle droop because the tube was so long.Wholley wrote:I think Holgers right.
It was known as the'Paris Gun'
British and French arty had a hard time registering it as it could move fairly easily.
Both sides used a similar monster in WW1.
Called the Dalgren it could discharge and then through the use of it's own recoil disappear below the line of sight.
Some Arty bloke is going to correct me here I'm sure

Heavy artilley
No absolutely sure what it is, though it definitely isn't the WWI Paris gun - used by the Germans to shell Paris in 1918. I think it is the massive 80cm Schwerer Gustav used to bombard Sevastopol in 1942 - it was similar to the 'Dora' super-heavy gun.

I'm also interested to know what that is and who used it. Simply because I don't think it makes any sense to use something like that. I don't think it was photoshopped. I'm guessing it was used in a movie.

Re: Query About Artillery Weapon
This gun would be believable but for the extending legs as there is not a lot of need for them
Re: Query About Artillery Weapon
I'm sure I saw one of those in Ann Summers the other day.

Or was it something that DaVinci designed and someone with a lot of time in his hands made a model out of? DaVinci is known for designing huge weapons.
