- Fill out Application
- Sit BARB Test & Basic Skills Tests
- Get Medical forms filled out by GP and sent to ADSC
- Interview 1 with Recruiter
- Interview 2 with Senior Recruiter
- Get sent to ADSC (2 Day Selection)
- Get given start date
That's with no hitches, ADSC may need more info on your Medical Documents, you may have a wait between Interviews and ADSC because you are not fit enough or whatever. But that's the basic lay out, at my local ACIO anyway.

There are two tests in the Basic Skills Test area: a Literacy test and a Numeracy test. Both done on a computer at your local AFCO / ACIO.
Your recruiter will book you in and walk you through the tests and then you are on your own. As far as I know there is no time limit, you just do your best. You get given a grade on it (Level 1, Level 2) and this can determine job choices.
I was told the main reason for this was because many applicants from Commonwealth countries couldn't speak english well enough so they brought in these tests.
Should be piss easy, literacy was just some basic grammer - spot the mistakes and so forth and the numeracy was pretty basic too.
