A 2 week break?
Haha. A 2 week break after 6 weeks!? What are you smoking? More like 2 days off after 6 weeks.
Yeah I didn't mean 2 weeks after 6 weeks, I think the 2 week break is after 12 weeks or somthing like that.

Quick question. When i turned up at selection, i falied the eye test. Never needed Specs before or anything. So i got a pair of specs returned to Glencorse and was good to go. So my question is;

Will i have to wear these friggin specs all the way through training? The optician says my eye sight is normal. I dont want to be walking around Helles Barracks looking like deidre rasheed

Just make sure them gorgeous army issue specs dont fall off in the middle of the steeplechase or you may never find them again

As long as you can see ok without them, you should be ok. I used mine for the ranges and when in lectures.

Be prepared though, the staff make you parade round in them when you get them issued, and take the piss (what else would you expct though! :D )

i once greeted a corporal, about to do a parade inspection, wearing the issue gigs in place of my usual sleek sophisticated beauties. I was doing it for the crack really. everyone was laughing like mad before he turned up and the banter was flowing as it does amongst friends. the corporal turned up and i managed to keep a straight face as I bought the squad to attention and greet him. he basically collapsed with laughter and seemed to have the giggles for the next 10 or 15 mins or so, most of the lads found it highly amusing too especially when they werent supposed to be making any noise. the parade descended into a farce. all because i turned up looking like john major :wink:

Contact Lenses, by a shit load of dailes and keep a few with you all the time, if they come out, jus put on a new pair. Get something like this http://www.ideo.com/work/print/slim-new ... at-market/ and keep some oudorless sterile wipes in your pocket so you dont get an eye infection because of the mud, carbon or cam cream on your fingers when you put them in.
