To be CS gassed, take off your repirator and have a nice chat with the NCO! When you seem to not be able to hold up much more of a conversation, they mght let you out! :D

It's not that bad mate!

You should expect to get a lung full of CS gas so you know the effect it has.
It should also give you confidence in your respirator, and you will make sure you have fitted it properly.
There is also much more dangerous stuff about than CS gas and you are learning how to deal with these.

I take it you have done the NBC course, it's been a while since I did mine.
And we used Gas Chambers.

Done in 2001 mate and there is a big sign outside that small brick building that states, RESPIRATOR TESTING FACILITY

Either way, Confidence in the fit of the respirator is by far the funniest Lesson to teach!!!!

We used to get a bit of a bollocking for calling It a gas chamber, apparently not very politically correct

You will do a few simple tasks, then once you are settled in you will be lined up and one by one remove your Respirators and state Name, Rank and Number

Points to note

1. Dont try and do it in one breathe you will just stay in longer till you take a good lung full
2. Dont stamp your feet or freak out it wont get you out any faster.
3. Dont rub your eyes it just makes it worse.

Dont fret about it you wont die, and its a good leveller. Smaller guys seem to have more resistance than Big guys. so at least for once the small guys comes out on top

If It Is anything like mine, don't forget to add corporal to the end of your big three, It did make for some very amusing moments for the people watching the blokes that didn't
