Re: T.A. (faggots) PFT
I see you have a 300 number (spartan30073932 wrote:how long is the TA's PFT tab. and how long do they get to do it.

Dealing with a real clever one here arn't we?
PFT tab? Seeing as the PFT is 44 press ups, 50 sit-ups then your 1.5 mile, in that order. Not even the current CMS (R) TA Syllabus has its recruits tabbing for a PFT (What the stabs do insist on however is when you get to your regiment you get an extra 10 stone in weight issued to your midriff
)
So I think it's wise you do a tad more research and work out the difference between CFT's and PFT's before you go ahead and make a prick of yourself.
To try and claw this thread back to some form of use.To the best of my knowledge during the CMS (R) under the current , the run time for all other arms (non inf) is still 14 Mins... Saying that remember that this is a minimum and most of the soldiers who can't smash out a sub 10:30 find training difficult and alot of in this bracket find themselves heading for a great big dirty UFAS. Once you're a trained soldier the PFT times and reps are based solely on age and gender, with no allowance for cap badge (anyone who thinks it's based on cap badge is getting it mixed up with the weights for the CFT) For the PFT if under 30 years of age the run needs to be completed in under 10 mins 30 secs. Not completely sure what the times and reps for females or over 30's are, but I'm sure many on here can help out there.
Now, if that is your number. Switch on, just take a minute and think how that can be abused. LOOK AFTER YOURSELF AND YOUR OWN, protect your anonymity you problem child. By the way, not that I need to tell such a little super trooper like yourself, but be aware that disciplinary action can be taken against offenders if found to contravene persec orders. Maybe for your own good the mods may pass on your IP address to RMP.

I was not going to bight, but as I seem to be Military Forums resident stab I will add this
We are expected to meet the same standards as the regs PFT and CFT of course CFT weight depends on who you are serving with.
And If you are Interested my last PFT was 78 sit ups 67 press ups and a 9.15 on the run, there are not many In my unit who can not do what Is expected of them.
And I am not Infantry I am a CMT attached to RLC (although I will be moving on In a month) and due to my age I get 11 min on the run.

I was told last year while up at keogh on a course that It was staying the same, but they are looking at doing some kind of home study package so you learn the theory In your own time (like a lot of stuff now days In the TA) then when you go on course you will be tested. If you fail you don't do the course If you pass you carry on and do what ever course It Is.
This Is how It was explained to us, It seems to be a way of cutting down on the amount of time It takes to train you, i.e If you turn up on your CMT3 course already knowing anatomy and physiology there would be a lot of time saved and a lot of your own time In the evenings trying to study, giving more time to learn other stuff.
Whether this happens or not we will see, I have heard that the flight medic qual Is open to us, but as yet have not heard of anyone doing It other then the RAF reserve medics.
It looks as If I am off to RAC
