I've read quite a few times the phrase "the best regiment is the one you're in" I hope to join the Rifles, mechanised infantry, partly theyre the local regiment i think :o and they just appeal to me more than any other :P

I'm not joining because its the local regiment, its just convenient that it is. The Rifles just appeal to me, i like the ethos, but i think most people join local regiments, partly its where they're from so its full of the local history. Some people might join because their relatives before them have joined that certain regiment. So what are you joining and why? either way im sure whatever regiment you're in you'll enjoy it.

i hope to join the royal regiment of scotland (2 scots if posible) because scotland is my 'home' athough i live in england at the minute, and the 2 scots because that used to be the local regiment from where im from. (now all regiments are know as RRS)

Im joining The reme, Reasons, my dad was in reme, my grandad was the same. I love vehicles and fixing/working on them i just love being around them... also its to make my dad proud (as he died) Thats not the sole reason, I have wanted to join for many many years and this year its started looking like a reality.
