Alright lads
Me and my friend was just having a discussion on the runtimes of para's in Harrogate AFC
As i said it has to be done under 9:15
and He said it has to be done in under 14min
Even women over 30 in the RAF have less than 14 mins to run 1.5 miles...
You can have peace.
Or you can have freedom.
Don't ever count on having both at once.

Is all that I have
And the life that I have
Is yours
Your mate may be referring to the 'squadded run' which you take as a warm up before giving your 'best effort' 1.5mile run.
The 'squadded run' acts as a reminder of the route for those who haven't done the course on your Barracks. It also, as I say, acts as a short muscle warm up (just in case the racing snakes pull something when they're going for it)
PTI will lead the squad around and should give a mix of jog, with a fair bit of quick marching thrown in. You have 15 minutes for this first 1.5 miles and the idea used to be that the PTI would get you back to the start as close to the 15 minute point as poss rather than beasting you. Then it's pretty much straight into the actual test of running the course in your fastest time.
Pass times vary depending on age.
(The above is as I remember it from a few years back.... there may have been some subtle changes thrown in since) Basically, you have a 3 mile run to complete the test. So factor this into your prep work before you join. Warm up drills are a must if you're joining to avoid all the leg injuries such as shin splints.
well i did 1.5 mile in 9 min 20 seconds, so because a wanna be a pioneer, am sure al pass it with that, and if i sprinted on some it i could have made that paras lol
