In the Civi to Soldier book why does it say to bring a CIVI Sports kit even thou you're issued one at training?

Thought i'd add anther suggestion to the kit list.

Ex foliating gloves or flannel, because they can remove grit and dead skin better than a normal flannel i've been using one since Christmas and it even keeps those pubescent spots at bay!

[EDIT]

[I'd advise taking 3 - 4 because their thin and wear out in a short time (depending on how hard you press on you're face/body)]

I still have 2 questions im eager to know the answer to.

Going 2 weeks earlier do i have to wait 2 weeks to get my kit issued?
