I used to be in LI, just before they merged to rifles!

Get ready for catterick lads, first week is easy admin. There after is hard graft but enjoyable if you like that stuff. Work as a team is my best advice dont be a jack bastard and leave mates behind

just keep in mind you are not garrentied your choosen battalion. If they are a little short in a batt. Going on ops, guess where you will be posted. And 1 rifles are already out there so by the time you have passed it'll be another battalion that 'might' be in need of manpower. If your platoons lucky though everybody will go where the want to.

I'm not sure what to think about going to Afgan or Iraq, i relay got no idea what to expect relay, I mean i don't care about going now but when it comes to the crunch date no doubt ill be yiting it.

Thought adsc was fairly straight foward to be honest, although im sure basic is going to be a differant league. One of the guys there ran the 1.5m in 7.50, but got defferd because of the team tasks!

Has anyone heard of british millitary fitness? Its a training programme run my ex forces, done all over the uk. Was thinking of trying that to polish up my fitness.

Im just starting to get my kit together now. There seems to be loads of extra kit that people mention on this forum, than there is in the book though.

You take you're OATH and sign the contract 15 days before basic training, there for i've not done it yet.

England08, if you're worried about you're fitness work on it you're self as opposed to finding those kind of things because chances are there miles away! lol.. I'm not 100% sure but you could request to be put on the 2 week pre basic catch up course, but if you wasn't offered it i'm pretty sure you'll be fine for selection.

No my fitness is fine, done the run in 9.43, which was better than almost everyone else at my selection (apart from the odd para)

Just wanted to train to the max, so i can make basic as easy as possible, apparntly its better than just going to the gym, because there ex forces, so they know the score, and push you 110% on every session.

I start it tommarow, will let you know what its like. Think the link is www.britmilfit.com
