Training dates?

Post by ghost3h »

Hey, new to the forums and i was wondering at roughly what times of the year do the courses start?

Is it just 1 course a year? or multiple?

Roughly when in the year do they start?

Thanx

Hey ghost3h, welcome to the forums! Just a polite hint before some of the moderators get on to you, watch your text language, the moderators hate cleaning it up and threaten to delete posts.

What training are you interested in? PRMC? POC? RT intakes or Officer intakes?

Every two weeks. You're looking at around 4-6 weeks after completing PRMC before you will actually start RT, however. Start your application now as it's you who sets the pace. The minimum validity of each stage is 6 months before starting RT so you are free to take it at your own pace if you so choose.

I wouldnt apply until you know your fit enough to pass the tests, also you have a month after the medical in which to pass your PJFT. Each stage of your application may be valid for a certain amount of time but you dont want your recruiter to be chasing you up for each stage of your application. What level of fitness are you at now ghost? If you can pass the PJFT (1.5miles on a treadmill in under 10mins) now then go for it because you'll have a few months to get that 3mile time down.

I mean each to their own, but personally I would wait.

i can run a mile in about 7.30 atm, im gona start more cardo and running though. I've been wroking on strength and upper body for the most part but i definatly want to join the army now.

The end of the first phase of training what is the test the pass? I mean by this the physical side not shooting and such. I am aiming to be fitter then the normal standard for just joining

Thanx

end of week 15, isnt there a big test you have to pass that includes like a 6 mile run in a certain time, or u get back trooped?

Is that question above to do with the 32weeks Royal Marines training?. Id imagine there would be many other things you could be back trooped for and not only on the 6mile run in week 15. Why are you worried about getting backtrooped in week 15 anyway?? You do know that the Royal Marines are part of the Navy and not the Army....

Have you gone into your local Armed Forces Careers Office and spoken to someone about joining. If not it is defiantly something you should do soon.

All the best.

Thinking royal is in the army isnt a good start to be honest, I would recomend doing some more research on your chosen career before advancing any further.
