Its changed lads, Basically you do it on week 14 and completely skip Running man (thank f@#k) but its 3 nights instead of 1 in the field now.
Also means more chance to pass.

What is ex. running man again? I might give it a try.

edit: oh it's 3 days, nevermind. Is there a pass/fail test to do with weighted running or something?

Running Man used to be a 3 day primarily navigation ex as you said on Woodbury Common. It's done with bergens as oppsed to daysacks though. Hang out, specially in scorching mid summer Devon.

Do the marines do a lot of marching with heavy bergens? It always seems they run with webbing mostly.
Lots of yomping with bergens ie long distance marches/load carries.
Speed marches done with fighting order ie webbing and weapon.

Bootnecks are famed for their ability to yomp (tabbing but a bit slower, longer and heavier). Phase 2 of training does include a lot of yomping, working from 4 miles back from the common all the way up to around 20 miles 'killer yomp' on Final Ex (plus all the smaller yomps you get that week  ). Operationally maybe not so much anymore as vehicles are relied upon much more.
