I met up with Pete yesterday to discuss the courses and training on offer, he's a top quality bloke with what sounds like top quality training to match.
I may be forgetting some things here but CQC (Close Quarters Combat), adrenaline control (controlled aggression and that), general fitness sessions and other activities such as hill training were all mentioned which seem great for getting prepared for military training. Did I forget to mention firearm training? Oh how my face lit up, sold there and then so oi was...
I'll let you know more come April 19th after the first training session, really looking forward to it and perfect timing for getting in touch as well!
All the best, Mike.
Reference my last I met with Pete again yesterday for a CQC session and all went well.
There weren't as many people turning up as expected, we were expecting around 10 people but in the end there were just 4 of us excluding Pete due to other commitments which wasn't a bad thing in my opinion because all that meant is Pete had a lot more time to spend with us individually. We started at around 10:45 and finished at about 16:30 working on a mixture of CQC and general fitness training designed to have you working at a level which will leave you knackered however fit you are.
Although at the moment I am more interested in the fitness side of things such as the hill sessions (which we will be doing soon) to help me prepare for training in the military I still find the CQC very interesting and in the end I learnt some effective CQC techniques, got a decent workout and had a laugh. Pete is a great teacher with a lot to offer and I for one am looking forward to getting to know and meeting up with him again.

Mike90, are you attending this Thursday? I just emailed Pete enquiring about the classes and he's advised me to come along this week.
- If you overtrained, it means that you didn't train hard enough to handle that level of training

Ah right mate, I don't even know Stoke much to be honest, only where the uni is, will have to pop on AA route planner.
No he didn't really go into depth about what the sessions entail, he did mention a course taking place on the 24th may though. Suppose I'll find out more thursday.

GTCS - CQC
Hi Guys, Sorry for delay in reply, been busy on CP work, my system is my own guys, I devised it utilising 34 years of training in Martial Arts / Combat also it is partly devised utilising my time in the military of which some I served in SF, I am the Head of Combat Training for the International Close Protection Training Association where my system as been adopted as the official CQC System for operatives trained at the association. I was teaching my system to SF , CP, and Law Enforcement well before Krav Maga came along, nothing personal meant there hope this posting gives a bit of an insight into my system guys, Stay Safe, Pete.

There are definitely spaces available Stokey, hope you're injury clears up soon mate. I just took a guess (evidently wrong!
) saying it sounded like Krav Maga after reading the Wiki article on it in that the goals are to inflict maximum damage in a short time such as going for the eyes, breaking bones etc.

Krav Maga plases great emphasis on doing the maximum damage to your opponent(s) while maintaining your own safety as well as others around you, no matter what the situation, no giving up. Then you bug out as quick as you can. This isn't a thread about that though so I'll sling me hook and sod off.Mike90 wrote:There are definitely spaces available Stokey, hope you're injury clears up soon mate.
