Has the PRMC changed
Hey all Im re-applying to join the marines and its just a quick one, have they changed the PRMC at all I sat it three years ago and would like an update if anything is different now. Also do you only need to do six pull ups Thank.
Hiya mate,
With regards to the pull ups query. When I did my PRMC in Oct '07 everyone on my course was made to let go of the beam when they hit 6 pull ups (the guys who couldn't get to that figure were told to let go by a pti when they couldnt do anymore). Though from people I've been speking to on various PRMC's, before & after the one I was on, it seems to vary. Not much help I know but just thought I'd let you know.
Day 1 still consists of the 3 miler, gym test 1 and swim assessment. As well as serveral lecture/demonstrations through out the day. I'd imagine no change there then.
Day 2 consisted on Death slide followed by the assualt course warm up then timed run, determination test and finally gym test 2. Again, several lectures/demonstartions through out the day.
Hope that helps.

Cheers for that GreenFlag I've still to do the PJFT but I'm not that worried about it, the PRMC scares me most. I've already done 4 weeks of recruit training and dropped out cause I fell out with a Corporal.
The best advice I can give you for the start of your RT is take an ironing board down with you trust me there are only so many boards in foundation block and the last thing you want to do is hang about waiting for one to go free and take an extension block as well. Take black marker pens down as well trust me you need them.

All you have to do is impress the blokes who in the long run are the guys who consider you to be up to the requirements.
Some blokes have breezed the phiz but cocked up on the questions and the personality required. The Corps of Royal Marines need guys with common dog more than the body of an Adonis!
Whilst I was taking recruits though training me and my fellow Cpls would make bets on who would fail and who would pass. The big body builders would be our first wrappers followed by the big talkers.
Come the end of Royal Marine Commando Training what is required by the Corps is a bloke who can hack it in any situation. And that is what 32 weeks of Royal Marine training does for a guy in all honesty.
