The way I understood it with the TA, is that you are still a member of your original unit (TA), but can stay with the full time regiment as long as you like (or as long as they need you).

As long as it does not affect pension contributions, I wouldn't think there is any significant difference either way.

There may be a way of doing a full transfer, if it does exist it was not explained to us in the TA.

Thanks for the replies guys. Spoke to the AFCO on the phone yesterday and got certain points clarified.

Looks like I'll be joining the RMR as Commando hopefully by this Christmas whilst at Uni, and upon graduating discharging, and applying for POC full-time :)

Glad I found this thread :) Is it possible to be a part of the OTC and the RMR? I'm guessing the OTC, being a 'drinking club' can't be much of a commitment? Also, I'm aware that you can't have more than one application going to HM Forces concurrently. So, would it be OK to apply for a bursary (first application), then apply to the RMR once successful (second application)?

Cheers lads, any replies are appreciated :D
