Tough Guy

Post by Starwon »

I've decided that i'm going to take part in this event next July i think it is.

So I was just wondering if any one else is going to, or if any ones already been and taken part in it, and if so whats it like?

Looks like it'll be a hang out anyway :o

I believe you have to be 16 to do this (might be wrong) but definitely my kind of thing, when I’m old enough...which I will be by then so yes might just join you on that one! Have to look into entrance fee's and all the rest

MFAT should take a team down :P

Doubt there being serious with those training suggestion’s... hope they are, If anyone goes rolling butt naked in the snow the last thing they should be thinking about is injury, Mental home may be a better option!

I was going to to the Jan event, but can't, so may be putting in for the July event instead now.

edd, check The Course tab on http://www.toughguy.co.uk/home.shtml

All of the training tips are a bit of a piss take, don't take it too seriously. Will definately be interested in applying for this after my 32 weeks has gone and passed. Sounds a cracking course.

Good luck to all those attending!!

Yeah I had a crack at this a few years ago. Pretty hard work and as I did the winter one it was freezing, the summer one is called Nettle Warrior i think. The vast majority of it is a cross country run with a difference ie severe hills. The whole obstacle bit isn't too bad as it is at the end of the course and there is such a bottleneck of people you get loads of rest waiting to go over the obstacles. Having said that, the run element was pretty hard! Overall I think for a fit potential soldier it wouldn't be too difficult.

Enjoy it!!

I did this race in Jan 2007. It was a great day out and a good sense of camaradre amongst the competitors. Its more of a fun run believe it or not, because unless you start near the front, once you get to the assault course section its a constant traffic jam. I fully recommend you give it a go though, it truly is a serious workout even for the fittest out there. Well worth a shot, and a good chance to raise some dosh for a local charity of your choice too.
