McGuire,
Sorry to hear the bad news. If you absolutely want to serve with the Corps then there are a few options short of being a Marine:
1. Join the Royal Engineers and go for 59 Cdo who work as part of 3 Cdo Bde
2. Join the Royal Artillery and go for 29 Cdo (same logic)
3. Go SBS (Special Boat Service) which used to be limited to Royal Marines but is now open to all services to try (note the try although that also applies to the two above cases they require the Commando course not SF course). SBS is still very much Royal Marines flavour so depending what it is that attracts you to the Corps you could quench your thirst there.
Having said all of the above it is possible that you join the army and end up not getting across to the Corps either because the system lets you but you fail selection or the system doesn't let you. It is therefore imperative that you join a regiment that you are happy to stay with.
Good luck,
Von

Yeah I was reading about the ones you mentioned. Definitely something I'll be reading more into in the next few days. Thanks for the reply.
