4 PARA Midlands?
Does 4 PARA have a company in the Midlands?
On the website it says that it recruits nationally but it only has companies in the south & the north.
Are there any guys from the Midlands that travel to one of the other companies i.e London?

Im affraid there is no 4 Para companys located up in the middlands mate, Ive heard of people traveling though to and from the one in leeds. But in the end its up to you if you want to have to travel everytime you go.
Edited to make more sense.

Thanks for the reply.
There is an RMR & 23 SAS in Birmingham as well as the usual TA regiments.
The local TA Infantry regiment is the West Midlands Regiment....but I've been told by a few people that its not the best unit in the world!
Theres a 131 Independent Commando Sq RE detachment at the same TA centre which I've been told is top notch.
Someone told me there was a 63 SAS Signals det in Birmingham also but I don't know if thats true.

If you go for 23 (possibly 63 too) or 21 instead, you'll still have to travel up to Leeds, as both those units now send potentials to 4 PARA for basic training and to pass CiC / P-Coy before they even get a look in at selection.
Reckon Leeds is your best bet to be honest. Know a fair few blokes in from 10 coy (London) who lived far out, they only travelled in for the weekends and missed drill nights, you may well be able to do the same up at Pudsey.

Sounds like a sensible idea, is that a recent innovation?Sarastro wrote:If you go for 23 (possibly 63 too) or 21 instead, you'll still have to travel up to Leeds, as both those units now send potentials to 4 PARA for basic training and to pass CiC / P-Coy before they even get a look in at selection.

From what I remember it's a basic PFT. 60 press ups, 70 sit ups and 1.5mile in 9.30 mins.mickeysays wrote:Does anybody know what the fitness requirements are for weekend 1?
The next weekend 1 is the beginning of December so I've only got a few months to train for it. My fitness isn't great at the moment because of a sports injury.
