chin up, its not the end of the world. In a few years you'll have to rack your brains to try and remember what you got because they aren't the be-all and end-all.

In my second last year of school I failed 3/5 of my classes, aka no award! Not because I couldn't do the work but because I didn't want to do the work. So, in my last year I belted my ideas and passed all of my classes leaving school with 6 highers. If you have another year left then do the same, it isn't that difficult.

Look on the bright side, a C in politics means you're eligible to join the labour party!

I ended up with a D, an E and a U (Geography, History, PE) and am now about to start my third year at uni in a department that gets better average scores than Oxford and Cambridge.

I'd be chuffed to bits with those scores mate, they may not have been as high as you were hoping, but most people would be very happy with them, and as you've said it's enough to get you to uni.

Well done on your results, dont worry too much if they arent quite what you expected, I was the same, i got three C's but I have just graduated University this year with good degree, 3 marks off a 1st overall. So dont worry, I was the same as you and I have done ok. Trust me A levels are not as vital as you have probably been told they are, they get you into uni thats generally their purpose. Just make sure if you go to uni that you get a 2.1! That IS important mate!

Well done on getting into uni anyway even if you weren't happy with the results, at the end of the day once you've got the degree the A-levels won't count for that much. Its enough UCAS points for the marines anyway I think isn't it.

I only got AS today, BBC; with FM uncertifcated so the units can be 'stolen' if neccesary for maths. They were lower than I was on course for so a slight disapointment (as I'ld started thinking I already had the higher grades it looked like I would get). Got a B overall in Physics even with one E module, and the C in electronics with one U module . So I kind of let myself down in this last sitting, if I had got my original predictions of C's and B's in this sitting then I would have got A's overall.

I dont quite get all the TV foolowing A-level results thing, its either loads of people crying or cheering while holding a piece of paper in their hands . There really is more importnat news out there; A-level results are important, for the person getting them, for everyone else what does it matter?

I dont know how far along in the clearing process for uni you are but i feel compelled to give you a little advice! Mate, dont live at home when you go to university!! Always live in uni halls for the first year as thats when you meet a core group of friends who you will go through the 3 years with. The first year in halls is the best year, it is awesome. If you can mate try and get yourself into halls, your uni will help you. Trust me on this one you will regret it if you dont!
