How To Get A 6 Pack?
How To Get A 6 Pack?
any one got any good advice on how to get a 6 pack? please comment
got to Week 7 and left :(
Firstly don't go focusing on the cosmetic side of working out (If you wish to join the Royal Marines) because it wont help you at all. the way I look at it is I train to get fit. I.E. fast ,strong, good endurance and effective in the actions I do. If I get a "nice body" then I aren’t exactly going to complain.
But in answer to you're question ,I believe there is two simple components to getting a "six pack" ...
1.) Low body fat gained by plenty of cardio and eating less clean calories than is being burned off. Anything from running/circuit training/swimming/ cycling etc will burn that fat.
2.) working the abdominal (I do this every other day) there's millions of exercises look into it (google etc) don't just do loads of high rep exercises such as sit ups etc (although if you want to join the marines then plenty of sit ups is a good idea) look into low rep strength exercises such as weighted crunches, leg raises, standing abs wheel roll outs etc
Just a tip work the core (abdominal ,obloquies and lower back) as one unit to avoid muscle imbalances and to be more effective.
But if I’m honest don't focus on getting a six pack, focus on having a good strong effective core. A six pack wont get you any merits at down CTC.
You'll find it just comes over time and with good hard work. But like I say don't fuss on the cosmetic side of things.
Stokey
P.S. Genetics also play a big part in the way you look... dependent on you're somatotype (spelling?), amongst other things

cheers for the advice stockey_14. i dont just aim to get a 6 pack. geting one is just an extra bonus for me. i train at the gym 5 days a week and aim for strengh/endurance and stamina. ive sorta got a 6 pack but not a "chizzled" one which is what i would like realy. ive got to get my fat percentage down. even though at my PRMC they said we need some body fat so i must be careful to not get it too low

dont put everything on getting a six pack from joining the royal marines, purely because your abs are covered by a sheet of fat and to get the majorly defined cosmetic pointless six pack means having a stupidly low body fat percentage, which of course wont happen seeing as having an amount of body fat for the marines is required.

but nah - low body fat and plenty of cardio and ab exercises = 6 pack. genetics play a big part too.

Bodyfat is important for endurance athletes which is what you are in essence and certainly will be by the end of training
Aslong as your BF isn't massive then it is an essential part of your fitness and something you on't want to lose. That said though anything over 14% IMO is a tad too much
It's all a balancing act
