A quick update- Ive just recived this email from a Corpral in 3 Para concerning my problem:

"Thanks for your enquiry. I can tell you that the run time for ADSC is 9mins 18 secs and the press up requirement is 50 in 2 mins and 60 sit ups in 2 mins. The best thing you can do right now, is to get your self loaded onto one of our weekend or week long Insight Courses that we run here in Colchester for lads like you.

On the course you will be put through your paces physically, shown how to improve your fitness specifically for the Army Selection process. Also you will get introduced to the kit and equipment of The PARAs today, be shown what our training is like and get the opportunity to ask serving PARAs what life is like in the regiment.

We can also help you through the recruitment process with advice and written reports on you. Or more information, or to book onto a course please call during working hours on 01206 78 2343. Or look at our website on www.parachute-regiment.com .

Or email us your postal address and we can send you an information pack.

We look forward to hearing from you again.

LCpl *****"

So its is all good news I now have some accurate goals to work to also requested a place on the Insite weekend at the end of my College Course and a information booklet :D and thanks again to everyone who helped me out :D :D

In my opinion the press ups and sit ups you do when you first turn up just sets a good impression with your training team, when i passed out of training though there were blokes that still couldnt do over 50!
I think your recruiting officer is just jealous he never went for the reg
God is a marine, he failed airborne selection.

LOL yeah I think so too mate, I email the Para regement and they said 50 press ups in 2 min and 60 situps in 2 minutes(Which I can already do) and a run time of 9.12 -1.5mi. So ive been training for about 1 month now and improved gradually but getting better. :D

Yeah definitly mate, I dont think I have been having enough rest. My routine was press ups, sit ups and dorsal raise 4 times a day every day and I think that is too much at the minute, so im going to have a rest from that every other day like my runing.

Yeah para trainin programme is 3 days on then a rest day then 2 days on. Make sure 1 day is say running, then swimming, then pressups. Don't do 60 pressups in mornin then 60 pressups midday then 60 pressups at night. All you need to do is 3 sets of 20 to begin with all in 1 go with like 20 second gap in between. When it gets easier do more sets. If you constantly work out all day you won't give your body time to recover. Similarly if you exercise the same part of your body everyday it won't recover or build aswell as if you do circuit training.

I'd definately consider more along the lines of circuit training, as for it helping my fitness, i seemed to have already been quite fit. Will only be able to tell after 4 weeks if it's worked
