Yep it would bar you, you would have to wait for the conviction to be 'spent'. Best bet is reading the back of an application form and it says on there about it all.

Good luck with it mate, have you applied for legal aid? or got a solicitor?

I think he was extracting a watery Irish bloke from your urethra there.

Either that or he was being a typical hat recruiter and trying to steer everyone away from Para Reg.

You will only get a conviction at court if it is deemed beyond reasonable doubt that you committed the offence. Obviously if you get convicted inform your AFCO asap.

as said if as you say you havent done anything then you wont get convicted unless it can be proved beyond reasonable doubt. if you have had some part to play in the incident and arent actually completely innocent then of course it becomes a little less clear cut..

its far more likely to be the other way round where someone HAS comitted a crime but won't get convicted for whatever reason.

good luck with it

Most Bootnecks get done after they join up for stuff like this.

As for the statement ref the Paras allowing in guilty parties. Total shite!
They are just like Royal and any other service. Got a bad mark against your name you are not allowed in. Endex!

That's good to hear, It's annoying when you get mistaken for someone else.
I was once searched by police officers on the way to my mates house because they had reports of someone may be carrying an air rifle/pistol and was firing it at cars and they fitted my description and I was a tad bit worried, even though I knew it wasn't me but the police officers were decent guys and after I let them search me they appoligised and let me go on my way, it was a scary experience.

Well that's my story and I'm glad to hear that everything is ok for you and good luck with the royal marines.

Mate of mine was the spitting image of Salman Rushdie. His two week holiday in Beruit 10 years ago could have gone a lot better..................................or so the spiritualist who contacted him the other week told us.
