Good luck 930 troop
Hello,
I guess a lot of you newer lads won't know me as I havent been on here in ages, but I thought I'd come back and say best of luck to my mates in 930 troop who are due to do their commando tests soon.
If it wasnt for that hip injury who knows, I could have been there for you but this damn injury said otherwise
Anyways, best of luck lads.
Dave

Thanks lads. Good to see you again.
My injury is 'nearly' gone (though I said that last time didnt I!). I'm not 100% sure if I am going to go back yet. I'd like to, but I would have to do PRMC and RT all over again. We'll see though as I would still love to earn that Green Beret even after all these setbacks.
Polynikes, my PRMC diary is on the how to become CD? I didnt know that!

A WORD ABOUT EFFORT
Life is a chance to discover your limits,
Try everything with an open mind- perfect yourself.
Accept pain, discipline and suffering as part of the game.
Pain is the only way to know when your nearing your best
Approaching your limits.
We place no value on anything we get cheaply - the more effort, the more discomfort ,the more hardship - THE HAPPIER WE ARE.
Effort is the original contribution we make to this world.
Everything else is given to us:
HEALTH
STRENGTH
TALENT
AND ABILITIES OF ALL SORTS
Whether spiritual, mental or physical
Effort is the only element we can aadd
A sense of humour allows us to tolerate the intolerable
Accept the unacceptible . to bear the unbearable.
IT REDUCES LIFE TO THE GAME IT IS.
and
Most will never attain it, others will bust gut and limb to wear it;
In money terms, it is inexpensive,
Six or seven pounds at most,
But to the wearer it is a crown of gold,
A cherished garland,
His degree for life,
The Green Beret of the Royal Marines Commando.
hope this has helped oppo

Even after my 3 knee ops, even though my knee is better I now keep geting shin splints! These things happen though and reoccuring injuries really test you. I repect anyone who has been injured and works hard to get back and grasp what they want.
Injury is a good test of character.
