I remember reading somewhere (cannot remember where) that the success rate of people applying for officer entry is 1 in 10. Does anybody know if there is any truth in this and also do most people fail at the POC and AIB or is it mostly later on in training?
Not too sure on that mate, but my best mate just did the POC just gone, think it was 30th April-2nd May and he passed, 18 turned up and 6 passed. All of the guys there where a minimum of 23 (I think)....
yeh no probs, its where they select the top candidates from the combined POC and AIB scores if there are too few places for the amount of people that passed.
POC: 8th May - Passed
AIB: 28th June - Passed
Final Selection: Failed!

You must be very disappointed with that, does it mean you will get to start training at some point though as in next year?
and yes i've got to do poc and aib again so it gives me a chance to improve both i guess, at least i'll be better prepared now. plus its not as if i'm wasting my time at the moment, uni's great!
