Just wearing them constantly really, soaking them then wearing them apparently speeds it up, never tried it myself, but lots of people do. But wearing them almost constantly, and while sitting moving your feet back and forth side to side will help.

Eh? If your boots fit you properly you shouldn't be able to move them too much inside the boots when they're laced up. If your feet slide back and forward inside your boots when you walk, you will get blisters!

Go for a walk with them on, so you can see where the 'hotspots' are (for me usually on the side of the ankle). Get your feet taped up with tenso where necessary, then wear them as much as you can for until you start training.

As to getting them wet, then wearing them, yes it works, but give them a good polish afterwards. It won't hurt if you polish them regularly too (once or twice a day), as the leather will absorb the polish and become more supple.

Some people swear by applying neatsfoot oil to them as well to soften the leather, but that's up to you (it certainly won't harm them, but you may notice that they won't take a polish for a while afterwards).

Best of luck.

Is it true that soaking them in piss softens them up better than soaking them in water? If so, how does it work?

Well you could try soaking one in your nice warm piss and the other one in nice warm water and see which one comes out better!

I didn't mean feet inside the boots to move around, I meant for feet to and boots to move around together. By moving your feet and boots in such a fasion rubbing spots will show up and the leather will be stretched etc. Has worked for me time and time again

Can anyone help me with lacing up my boots? I have the standard military ones with the lock buckle halfway. At the moment i have put a knot in the end of the lace and have a single lace going up the boot. The downside is that it takes me ages to get them on and do up which isn't good when doing quick change parades in cadets!

I have found brushing on neats foot oil works to soften the leather as recommended in the booklet you get given on completion of PRMC. Also applying surgical spirit to your feet helps harden the skin. I have found that stopped my blisters very effectively.
