I am looking for John Beattie was PO35937G and one of my Cpls in 8 Troop Zulu Coy 45 Cdo RM in the Falkland Islands in 1982.
He comes from the South Shields area and last heard of him in 1992 when he was working off shore as a Diver.
Any straws for me to clutch at?

Hunting for divers?

Post by jos »

If you go to the web site www.longstreath.com then you should be able to post a message for him. It's a commercial diving web site in use by divers world wide.

Most divers use the site at one time or another.

After 627 hits I thought I'd found him.

I've tried a diving web site before and found other bootnecks
But
I'll have another go

Cheers mate

Yorkie, have you tried the records SNCO in his last/discharging unit? Corps historical records officer? Globe and Laurel... if he is on their mailing list they can contact him with your details and then it is up to him to contact you. Just a couple of ideas to be going on with!
Drums beating, colours flying and bayonets fixed...

Cheers Sticky, I did have contact with him a few years ago, BUT his last address was a PO Box No. I even rang the phone no I originally had and the bloke who had bought his flat answered... and didn't know anything.

A couple of the lads from the troop live up there and they have drawn a blank as well.

Still I have till 2007 to find him.

Written to all the Beatties in the phone book, and electrioal?? roll.

Still drawing a blank.

He's around cos someone on the diving net saw him a few years ago.

OK I'll play the game. 1 2 miss a few 99, 100. Coming ready or not. OK give up. Come out, come out where ever you are.
