Keep it above 14.5 for a good pass and remember to take into account the time it takes for the machine to get up to speed.
Really its nothing to worry about, get yourself down to your local gym and get used to running on a treadmill before the day as its not the same as road running and some people find it hard if they dont practise.

I think RM do the general 'Navy' PJFT while the Para's is thier own rather than the Army's..darrenrugby18 wrote:Abit harsh. I've always assumed as a general rule Marines are fitter then Para's, or is that me just being bias?
The AFCO seem to always say aim for a 9~ minute time, i'm guessing the training team will know your scores anyway
Navy times are slower than required for Cdo. Don't know about Army times. I think you'll find Paras are just as fit; much as we like to think we're better, in truth there's little to tell between us and them. I think the way of doing things, as in Paras being very much the Army way whereas the Corps encourages more initiative and thinking on your feet. Just the general consensus, no doubt I'm biased too
PJFT is a tick in the box activity for the Navy's purposes, get a sub 10 minute time and move on. If it was meant to be a real test of ability then it would be done on a level playing field.

For the para's its - 9:18
Infantry and Pioneers - 12:45
The Royal Artillery, Royal Armoured Corps, Royal Engineers and Household Cavalry - 13:15
Junior Entry Army Foundation College candidates - 14:30.
Junior Entry Army Development Course candidates and all other Arms and Corps - 14:00.
For the army its the same as the marines with an 2.4km(1.5m) run, the only difference being is that this is done on the ground/road.
