I have a question so i thought i'd chuck it in here so i dont have to start a new thread, how many times a year does a para actually get to go parachuting on average, beacuse i've heard alot of stuff about them not doing it at apart from when they have to keep their wings. The parachtuing is mainly why i would like to join the para's.

Just thought I would chime in. For your running I would reccomend getting your distance up. If you cant run the 3 miles non stop it means you are going too fast. Having one "long run" a week is almost universal in running programs. This session is for focusing on distance and endurance, not speed, so dont take the stopwatch.
Slow down till you can do 3 miles without stopping, then add a half a mile per week. This is what I do anyway. In the long run increased endurance will lead to faster shorter distance times.
Slowing down is really overlooked with people training to run distance. Try going REALLY slow and see how much further you get. It takes some discipline to stay at a slow speed but thats all part of learning to run well.

Think i need some new running trainers soon, Im currently using my Nike Shox, really really comfortable but probably not properly made for running. Also feel a bit like robocop in them as the Shox on them i think are to high.
Any suggestions any 1 for running shoes, yes i did take notice the ones two people mentioned a few posts back but a little choice would be nice as i can be a fussy git when it comes to trainers as i probably have the weirdest shaped feet going.
I have always found Nike Air Max Classics to fit me perfect and really comfortable but i might change my mind if i try on a pair recomended from someone on here.

I would stay away from most of the "trendy" brands ie, Nike, Reebok etc... as dispite how they are labled they are designed mostly for fashion rather than function.
I wear Asics and I've always found them to be very good, and they're not even expensive ones, but I believe New Balance and Mizuno are good for running too.
