Right , back to the original post, (I'm not even gonna ask what all the editing was for!!) Is everyone feeling ready and got all their kit sorted? I think your allowed swim shorts but they just can't be like surf shorts. Im just gonna take 2 sets of jeans couple of t-shirts, shoes and trainers and obviously my smart stuff I will be traveling down in.

Tom, I'm back in town til Tuesday (tho you'll be gone by then), if you want a last minute chat before you go give us a yell, will warn you I've got no transport at the minute as my chain decided to slice me bike in half earlier today :o But in town or if you can drive over my way shouldn't be a problem.

To all of you off soon...enjoy yourselves

Just read back a bit. If you haven't got speedos, go buy some. JJB in Exeter get a fresh supply in every weekend ready for the nod rush, and you end up looking a bit silly if you're an extra large bloke wearing smalls

Oh, and don't forget your bikini line :o

I'm in a good mood. More advice.

Watches - anything robust and non-shiney fine for the field. If you get one with a luminous face just be aware of it and make sure it's covered at night. Take your normal watch for day to day wear, just beware of it ashore - I smashed up two expensive watches on the piss in Exeter. Fark knows how.

Someone listed a load of kit to get ahead of the game. Agree with all of it, just be aware that some of it depends on your training team as to when you can start using it eg. bergen liners, we couldn't use til week 26, had to use Pusser's crap til then. But this was 18 months ago now.

Good iron essential, will make your life a hell of a lot easier if you can get good creases with one stroke rather than scrubbing at them for hours. Bite the bullet and spend £30-£40 on an essence one.

Don't worry too much about the kit list, get most of it if you can, but just about everything you for the first week is easily available from the NAAFI, or worst case scenario a quick bus ride to Exeter, can't think of anything you'd need from there before your first exercise tho. Except bungees. Take bungees. Lots of them. You can never have too many bungees.

Hows everyones phys going?
Mines terrible, I was ill a few weeks ago straight after a holiday, and I have only been doing 2-3 runs a week now, so I reckon I am going to struggle a bit when I get down there, guess I had just dig deep and get everything else sorted down there.

well iv only been doing 2 or 3 runs a week anyway since my PRMC, i'm just trying not to overtrain as i'm more concerned about getting myself down there injury free to give myself the best possible chance, your hardly going to lose much fitness by only doing 3 runs per week instead of 5, anyway from what i hear your more likely to get a sore wrist from ironing than sore legs from phys during your first few weeks so i wouldn't worry too much about it 8)

Well guys just finished packing, starting to dawn on me now! But I can't wait, although I do feel a bit tearful leaving my family and friends behind, but I guess everyones in the same boat. I will try and keep in touch when I can, but I would like to take this oppurtunity to thank you all for your advice and guidance and lets hope it gets me through the next 32 weeks!!

Cheers guys
