I fully agree with you.
 
How people can be classed as a Para yet not be a qualified parachutist to me is just ridiculous.
The concept of not doing Combat Survival or TQ and yet being 'badged' would seem to be missing a valuable part of training.
Having been through that type of training would no doubt focus a persons mind on not being captured.
Also having been through the experience would better prepare a person to deal with the situation if captured.
The maxim of 'Train hard, fight easy' still stands.
