My mate just started basic training monday and from what she's told me so far you just arrive and get settled in, have your injections, get issued kit and spend a night in the field on the wednesday night. I might now be used to the bootneck way but apparrently they dont even do a phys session until friday.

Sounds like you are getting a career behind you that's a good idea.
I would think you've done some sort of pre-basic training course or weekend so you have some idea what it will be like when you get there.
Just go with the flow, listen to what the instructors say and enjoy!
Personally I would leave the tabbing till you have to do it in training, Running should stand you in good stead and throw some circuit training in there eg.LANGAN wrote:im i doing the right training
i do a 4 mile tab with 20kg bergan wearing boots around the hills one day and on the other day i do a 2 and 1/2 mile run wearing trainers and afterwards i do press up and pull ups.
Burpess, Press ups, sit ups & pull ups etc.

Jesus wept. I hope this isn't a bite
No, the bergan is the main part of the Personal Load Carrying Equipement, Marching Order (PLCE MO). It is I believe of 125 litre capacity with the two side pouches fitted. It's primary use is to knacker the back and shoulders of the user, secondarily to transport all the kit required to survive and fight in the field (except the little essential bits and bobs, such as ammo, which go elsewhere, but let's not confuse the issue). The only time all the kit you own will be in it, is when you f#$k up a locker inspection and get the joy of carrying the contents for a whole day, including phys

Unless someone decides your better off having a handbag. The same as a bergan except it tops level with the pouches. Then your supposed to be able to get most of the same kit in there.druadan wrote:It is I believe of 125 litre capacity with the two side pouches fitted.

If you ever get issued one of them, go and buy a PROPER bergen.
