Wow, what a first two weeks, i just wanted to say, that preparing yourself physically isn't as important as knowing how to stay organized, phys is easy so far, except ironing for hours unending is rough, just thought that i would say while you're doing your press ups and situps in your breaks you iron a shirt, because you and your iron will become great friends! LOL. But aside from that great times, its everything you could expect plus more. Getting that green beret comes closer as everyday passes and each day on you want it so you work your hardest. All in all just giving a warning of the ironing there!

Weeks 3 and 4 were alright for 925 its this week(6) thats been the f**k around week for us. I was alright though didn't get picked up for anything but quite a few of the lads did even for minor things.
Glad your enjoying it now, because out of foundation gets much much better. Time starts to fly aswell, can't believe im in week 7 (when i go back) already.

Thank alot for this post. I find alot of the forum posts are about pre PRMC training etc so its good to see some info on those early stages of training if you can pass on any more infomation you might have then it would be a big help. Hows the phys?

If you really want to help yourself out in the first 6 weeks, learn the names of every part of the SA80 and the 4 marksmanship principles. It'll impress your section corporal if your weapon knowledge is shit hot.

Week 3 and 4 were f@#k around weeks for 926 too. Our DL persists on trashing our locker, regardless there is nothing worng with them. We have to room change if we complete everything, which is a pain. But its all good fun
.
P.s- I saw an article on abusive language which was posted sometime ago. Im not being funny guys, but the Marines are soo bad mouthed, if you are offended by words- lol- you will not like the RM.

You have the worst DL ever that's why. During our foundation phase he helped out our DL and he was mental. cheers for advice on ironing, i only do the occaisonal bit at home so i think ill start cracking on with a bit more to get some practice in!
i was just wondering though, does the lack of sleep ive heard about really take it out of you in foundation, or is there some new rule now about having lights out by 2230? (think i saw this in another thread)

yea, that guy is f@#k he ran around and was teaching us how to do everything at marine speed. which was f@#k hilarious he saw me laughing and made me do 40 press ups but i was fine. but our dl is cool, hes nice hasn't thrashed us yet, the only thrasing we got or more the less i got was in the gym when i was caught talking in the ranks after an exercise i got a nice 10 minutes extra in the gym doing sprints, press ups and tuck jumps. I don't talk in the gym anymore.
In referance to joeallens post sleep deprivation is true you are tired and might find yourself falling asleep at a lecture but don't let it happen we had a guy fall asleep while writting a note on his bed it was hilarious because he fell asleep with the pen in his hand.
Darren rugby yes there is internet access there are a couple computers on campus but its tough to even get close to one while in foudnation there is no time usually for shit like that.

Haha Im 927 and in foundation i think everyone will agree that you are half man half ironing board. Im so glad were out of there and i think the new block is f@#k hoofing. I remember what Hankins is talking about when a lad was so tired he felll asleep writing a note. Also that DL kept coming into our room and thrashing us. We literally had to double mark time whilst ironing. People about to join just take note that there is nothing really that can prepare you mentally for entering training but its all good fun.
