The overriding factor in choosing Kings Squad Pass Out music is wheather it will fit in with the existing Parade format. Military music is measured in 16 and 8 bar phrases and so if a troop has a particular request (that is available) the band do try to accomodate, as long as it doesn't have a knock on effect with any other piece during the parade. Thunderbirds is popular with Drum Majors, at CTC as due to the musical phrasing. The band march on to it and have completed the main theme by the time they halt next to the dias.

In the late 80's when I was first drafted to CTC, Thunderbirds was a firm favourite and has remaind so ever since. Mind you, its been around for 40 years now!

When I was at Pompy we played the theme music to Postman Pat on a Naval Divisions Parade (LOL)
