Failed PRMC: Can i still join RMR?

Post by Konassin »

I went on my PRMC back in march, passed the first few tests (3 mile run, gym test 1, swimming) but then had to withdraw because of an injury. At the time i was given a 6 month wait before i could reapply.

I'm fairly fit again, go boxing and swimming regularly, but not near to my previous fitness levels yet. What would the RMR make of me? Given that i've been told i can't apply for Lympstone again until September, would there be any point of me joining the RMR?

I have to admit, i'm not really clued up on the reserves, so any info in general would be appreciated.

Cheers.

Which was sort of my point. If i have to pass the PRMC before the RMR would allow me to start attending, then there really wouldn't be any point. It's just that i'm getting itchy fingers waiting so long, and my social life is pretty empty at the moment, so getting a head start with the RMR might be a good idea?

Besides, if i like the whole set up with the RMR, i might decide not to bother going through the regular service.

By the way, yes i live in London. Are you already in the Reserves?

at holding troop you do circuits, RMFA's, runs, swimming etc to build your fitness up, then after a period of time you do the intake selection (RMR PRMC) then you start training.
