All 3 are hard.

Depends what you want.

RAF Reg - Guards airfields

Paras - Jump out of planes

Marines - Get wet

This been dones thousands of times. Use the search, do the research and decided.

OK, Commando training is 6 weeks longer than Para. Para is longer than RAF reg by 2 weeks. Mate in the Maf reg, says it's one of the worst regrets as he is bored all the time plus you sign the line for 9 yrs :o . Miserable all the time, He know he wants to come down to lympstone and train as a Commando. I researched all 3 thoruoghly as I went from RAf reg to Para now to Commando. So I went from something I wanted to something I really wanted to something I dreamed. 8)

i disagree, my dad seemed to have equal amounts of fun in the paras and the raf regiment! Its not the regiment that makes the man, its the man that makes the regiment.

My dad when he was ini the raf had a marine let off a milan off right next to his head, my dad got into a major fight with he marine, so not all commandos are that clever. Liek i said, its the man that makes the regiment.

All three are good, but dad still thinks the marines are the dogs bo**ocks!!

take alot of time to get information on them all mate, and make your decision when you feel you've done enough research to merit your future, nothing stopping you from trying all 3, but if you want to choose the right one first time, a few weeks information gathering isnt going to hurt... i was in the same boat as you, i was unsure where i wanted to end up, now after looking into things.. ive got me goal right 'ere

so well worth researching :D

have to agree, you might want to join the ta first to get an insight to what military life is going to be like, thats what i did but absolutly love it, so cant wait to get the 32 weeks training going

If you come onto a web site like this and ask such a question it's obvious to me that you still need to do a lot of growing up Jaffa.

Im hungry, and im not sure weather i want baked beans, spaghetti hoops or sardines with my toast, can anyone help?

We all know what you,d get at CTC at the moment.....

Sorry mate im only joking, but as Artist said, if you dont know yet yourself it may be that your really not ready to decide. Just make sure you have a good look at all of them and be as sure as you can.I jumped the gun (all be it in a different context) and ended up leaving the RM during training, and am now biting the bullet untill i re-join. And please dont ask the "who's better?" question.

Have a good look around this site using the seach button and you may find that one in particular strikes a chord with you more than the others.

i was also on the same boat i did everything for the raf reg to get in got passed the pgac but now decided to go for the marines.

i passed the pgac wih flying stars on fitness and pretty much everything else. the reason for my change of mind is that i didnt want to be stuck protecting airsites and crap like that all my life i would rather be in the thick of the action plus people at the pgac that were also tryin to get in were fannys, only a few gd ones.
think about it hard cus i thought about it first time round i would be in the marines by now not waitin for a fookin prmc.
gd luck, sully

Please don’t say all the RAF regiment does is just stand ‘guarding airfields all day’, when someone says that I have a picture in my head of some WW2 airman with a fag hanging out of his mouth leaning against a fence. If all they do is guard airfields, why have the RAF regiment? Why couldn’t normal airmen do the job or RAF police? I'm not in the RAF regiment, but have been on lots of camps with them in the space cadets :) . I'm only going on word of mouth but they do seem to be in all the conflict zones the same as the RM.

And I know I'm not one to be preaching about combat but when you say I want to be in the thick of the action, what do you think it will be like? Custards last stand? I think warfare has changed slightly since then.

This is taken off the RAF website.
The RAF Regiment is an elite fighting force. They provide armed protection for the RAF’s assets – people, aircraft and bases. Gunners make armed patrols on operations, exercises and bases, operate from helicopters in special security operations, join the Queen’s Colour Squadron for ceremonial duties and even jump as parachutists in the RAF Regiment.

You’ll be expected to cope with dangerous, difficult and demanding situations – working alongside elite members of the other forces on patrol, securing foreign airfields or defending vital equipment and people on operations and exercises.
Take away the gucci parts and they basically do protect airfields or equipment. But the also do do similar things to the marines.

Members of my family and also some freinds have served in the RAF and as soon as i mentioned RAF Regiment they told me not to join as there not the brightest bunch.

But im not saying there crap, they play there part and fair play to them.
