World War III
Call me crazy but that profit nostradamus predicted the world trade center attacks and he or another profit guy said there would be a great worldwar in around 2006 and mentiond iran and russia. I hear there may be some stuff kicking off with iran soon and they are good allies with russia, china, korea and co, what do you think the chances of world warIII are? does anybody know what this about U.S.A and Russia launching thousands of missiles into space was about?
cheers

If you read Nostradamus' quatrains properly he doesn’t actually mention the trade centre towers, or war in the Middle East at all, never even mentioned Hitler which some people quote him as doing.
Its all down to interpretation, with old Nosti we tend to read between the lines alot and fill in the gaps in relation to current events.

That's just it, it's all down to interpretation. It doesn't take a lot to write a vague outline of anything, and have it picked up in the next couple of years and thought to be some great prophecy. It's funny how nobody will dare put forward what these 'prophecies' mean until they've actually happened.
People seem to pay attention to the parts that fit (even in the slightest) and outright ignore the parts which don't.
Rich.

With the majority of the middle east not being fond of us "Crusaders." I reackon they might want to start something up, especially Iran. The Russians are trying to defuse the situation, they're offering nuclear power made in russia to iran rather than Iran having a nuclear program of any sort. Also their Anti-Semitic leader who don't wash is bad for our allies in the mid east(Israel).
THinking about leaving already!
its like the "bible codes" where they use a algrarythem to seach for letters, this then brings up a cross word of letters from every 50th word for example, from where they make the predictions, these is mostly down to forced words thus never accurate.
Nostradamus yes did predict some events but like others said its how you interpret it.
example bible codes "say" world will end in 2006, or some major war break out..
well we got 7 months to find out if its true or not

Ok as no-one else has said it it's Prophet not profit
Now i dont mind questions about divinations and phophecies but what does bug me is when people launch in with assumptions they heard (usually down the pub) about Medieval harbingers of doom and gloom.
Nostradamus was wrong about a lot of things and although i believe in divination the things he was right about can be put down to co-incidence and commonsense.

To be fair there may be time for Nostrodamus's end of world but we are also pencilled in for a few others around this time no doubt from various ancient cultures (the aztecs being one, found that out in mexico), loony cults and armchair armageddon enthusiasts, so im worried how the logistics of it will work, will the world end at different times for all these people, who will be selected for which end of world, or will there be a competition amongst the various religions and their god(s) to see which end of world scenario takes place? its all rather confusing and im worried that the admin and logistics are going to be a nightmare, i think ill hedge my bets, see which doomsday seems the best for me and go for that one, preffereably one with minimum fuss and hassle

If you creep along 45 degrees latitude you also see a lot of other likely places. Including a large amount of sea...dan--dan2006 wrote:Blimey this many replies already. Nostradamus could of made it all up but aparently he said
"The sky will burn at forty-five degrees latitude,
Fire approaches the great new city
Immediately a huge, scattered flame leaps up"
And people say new york is about 4.5 degrees latitude.![]()
Besides that talks about the sky burning and fire approaching the great new city. Others have theorised this as a metorite.
The celebrities of his time were the astrologers and others who could divine the future. Take a look at John Dee's works or if you can get down the British Museum you can see a few of his tools etc. The wilder the prediction the more fame they gained.
But i've heard great thigns about Nostradwarfy, they say he was born in a looney bin and can see through time and space with his single giant eye... I believe his prediction may soon be fulfilled...

I reckon sooner or later something alot worse then iraq and afganistan will happen, already we have some crazy arab not doing as he is told again and when that happens there is usualy war soon after. Did anyone hear of U.S.A and Russia launching missles into space on like a training programme or was that just a load of papa made up by cnn.
Not that I a supporter of Iran's decisions but describing their president as a crazy Arab not doing as he's told isn't helpful (i assume you meant Iran...). He's used his wits and become president of a country not many people can say the same. All people who attain a position of power want self-autonomy and dislike being told what to do. Just turns out this one has decided he rather than the UN should have the last word on the enrichment of Uranium.dan--dan2006 wrote:I reckon sooner or later something alot worse then iraq and afganistan will happen, already we have some crazy arab not doing as he is told again and when that happens there is usualy war soon after. Also another correction. Iranians aren't Arabs:

adj.
Of or concerning Arabia or the Arabs; Arab.
n.
1. A native or inhabitant of Arabia.
2. An Arabian horse.
A·ra·bi·a Audio pronunciation of "arabia" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (-rb-) also A·ra·bi·an Peninsula (-b-n)
A peninsula of southwest Asia between the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. Politically, it includes Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Arabia has an estimated one third of the world's oil reserves.
