Are the RMR regulary deployed on opererations - is it compulsary mobilisation or voluntary, and also once in the RMR how long do you have to serve.

from what ive seen there are plenty of opportunities to go, it can be compulsory or voluntary, whatever the government decides, although those in full time education are exempt from being mobilised.

if you are compulsory mobilised but want to get out of it i have seen stories about people finding ways out, but it begs the question; if you arent prepared to go, then why sign up?

i think the best attitude to have is to go in, expecting to be mobilised at some point.

minimum service length is 4 years but you can leave before that, not sure what the side effects of that are though.

As what Borisimo said, they ask for volenteers first, if there are not enough of these then its compulsory.

To kind of avoid mobilisations you dont want you can volenteer in say your summer break at uni. then you will be down on a list that have 'served' so will go to the back of the queue kind of thing to be mobilised because you would have already done a tour.

But hey, dont know wether to believe this or not, heard it at the presentation evening!
