Boots for Selection
Hello all
It's a personal thing I guess, but does anyone have any advice on the best boots for Sel.
Who rates Lowa Seekers?

Seconded. Had mine for a few years until for some inexplicable reason the leather started hardening, after which they were crap and I binned 'em. They were the first boots I ever had with the speed lace idea. Back then a lot of the lads wore Lundhags, too.Artist wrote:Don't know if you can still get hold of them but German Para Boots are the dogs bollox.

These days it's Danners for me. Acadia and Fort Lewis models.

Afternoon Roberts,
Following on from adj.
Seekers are the boot of kings on a summer course - Mountain/Combat boots for the naughty areas (Elan in particular) are a must during the dark months.
Anything goes on the tracked routes - danners, gsg-9's, gay jump boots aplenty.
Wear what feels comfortable - if you have mongy ankles - strap em up and choose the boots accordingly.

Morning SB,
'Issue boots only' was canned a good while back.
Double edged sword in my opinion as although lads get alot less tootsie trauma now, you do get lads (264 i'm looking at you) who extract the Michael.
Karrimor fabric boots sprayed/polished black not only look ridiculous, i'm sure if someone wearing them folded their leg in half falling down a reentrant and didnt get found till the following course, Health & Safety man would come down like a ton of the brown stuff.
Save your best pair of jump boots for kicking embassy doors down
Stick to leather/Goretex MILITARY STYLE boots with a decent heel.
Stilletos don't count.

Actually pondered my above comment while out for a stroll in the woods today and thought it might come over as sarcastic, the point i was trying to make is that i think to many people get hung up on what boots?what kit etc... really i would say just get on with it.
Once saw a member of the 'staff' who took us on a run, running with a pair of trainers that were so full of holes his toes were nearly poking out, didnt slow him down....get what i mean? huh ah forget it ! And no i dont spend all day thinking about what i may have written on MFAT, was just one of many randomthoughts that popped into my head throughout the day.
