Hi Alex,

What are you going in as and where are you starting ?

Let me know - if you're going to Halton for RTS - i'd like to bend your ear at every available opportunity, tell me what it's like and what to expect, etc.... - i'm starting on 4th Jan, so if you could spare me some info. over the Xmas break it would be really appreciated.

Best of luck with it, fella, whatever it is.

Daz.

Hi Rizza, im going in as a Communication and Information Systems Specialist, so i'll be doing my 9 weeks in Halton, then a further 7 months of trade training in RAF Cosford, near Wolverhampton.

I'll definitely let you know what goes on when i'm back for the Christmas break. I'll take a camera so i can take a few pics when/if we get time. It will be good to keep as memories.

So what are you going in as? Have you had your final interview?

Yes mate - i'm going for WSOp NCA - i'm just waiting on final medical clearance which will be here in the next week - i've already been given a date for starting. I'm just starting to get nervous and excitement now - only a month to go after trying for nearly 2 years (got rejected once - had to wait 12 months to apply again and the whole process for WSOp takes so long).

Thanks for that mate, you'd be doing me and other users of the forum a massive service if you could just spare a bit of your time when you come back. I look forward to it.

Again - best of luck with it all mate - i'll be rooting for you - enjoy it.

Cheers mate, best of luck with you too.

I've also been about 2 years in trying to get in but have never even thought of giving up. It's now or never for me as im 20. :(

I did originally want to do Avionics fell short on the aptitude, had to wait 6 months to retake, then was 'unsucessful' 3 times in the competition for places. But this was my second choice career all the time.

Got all my kit ready for Wednesday, had to buy a fair bit but don't have to speand alot.

It's good too see that you stuck with it, not letting the wait put you off.

Wednesday, eh ? I'll bet this last month flew by, didn't it ?

I know my next month will. Probably a bit too quickly !!

I haven't even started buying any of the kit yet - you got any hints or tips on other stuff to take that's not on the list ?

yeah it's flown by, i quit my job on the 6th Nov and have had all this time to chill. 8) Loved every minute of it.

I'm not sure what extra stuff you could take but i could let you know when i'm back. Good thing is i'm taking my car, which was reccommended at the AFCO to be used as a mobile wardrobe.
